Good News/Bad News: AI Saves Time, But Workers Feel Pressured
The Wire: The workforce believes the ball’s in their employer’s court when it comes to training on AI.
It’s no secret that workers are concerned about the impact AI will have on their jobs, but it seems they have, if anything, underestimated just how much they’ll be affected.
In 2023, according to the Adecco Group’s report Working Through Change: Adapting to an AI-Drive World of Work, 12% of employees worried that AI would make their skills less relevant. This year, 23% say the technology has done just that. Eleven percent worried that the technology would force them to change professions, but 21% say those fears have become reality. Eight percent feared they’d lose their jobs because of AI, but this year 13% said they indeed found themselves out the door.
